Meetings Africa 2025 Hosted Buyer Application
Applicants (one person per organisation) must
fall into one of the following five (5) specific categories. (No other industry segment, e.g., no
travel clubs/wedding and/or vacation packages will be considered.)
- Association President/Secretary General/Executive Director/Director of Conferences
- Corporate Meeting Director/Senior Planner
- Event Management Company Executive/Senior Purchaser
- Exhibition organiser / Mega Events Organiser
- Incentive Travel House Executive/Senior Purchaser
- Site/Venue Finding Agency
- SME Focused Buyers
To qualify as a hosted buyer, you must meet the following criteria set by
Meetings
Africa:
- If you reside outside of South Africa and your organisation has recently placed
regular
meetings and/or incentive travel programmes
(no other type of travel segment) outside your own
geographic region, i.e., those
buyers based in Europe and the UK must have an
established history of meetings outside of Europe; those based in Asia Pacific
must
have an established history of meetings outside of the Asia Pacific; those based
in the Middle East must have an established history of meetings
outside of the Middle East; those based in The Americas must have
an established history of meetings outside of the Americas.
- In the case of international buyers, you, personally, have purchasing authority
for these overseas events. (This is now
a mandatory requirement.)
- Your organisation / client is seriously considering South Africa
for a conference,
meeting and/or incentive travel programme in 2024 or 2025
or beyond.
(Associations must be
considering South Africa within the next two meeting rotations.)
- You will provide the identity of the final decision maker either on your 'Invitation
to APPLY' form or to our external qualifier. (This is now a mandatory
requirement.
However, all such information will be kept completely confidential
by our external
qualifier.)
- You will identify -- either on your Invitation to APPLY form or to our external
qualifier -- all hotels, resorts and conference centres which you have booked on
behalf of your own organisation or on behalf of your client. (This is now a
mandatory
requirement. However, all such information will be kept completely confidential
by our external qualifier.)
- You are authorised by your employer to participate in Meetings Africa 2025,
should
you qualify.
- You have not been hosted by South African Tourism in the past twelve months.
- As determined by Meetings Africa, our external qualifier will require
all third-party applicants to identify their client / clients who are considering
South
Africa.
(This is now a mandatory requirement. However, this information
will be disclosed
only to our external qualifier and not entered into any database or published in
any reference material, whatsoever. It will be kept completely confidential.)
- All information submitted on your Invitation to APPLY form will
be thoroughly cross-checked.
- All interviews for international applicants will take place with applicants via
telephone in English. (Those
unable
to communicate in English will not qualify. No interpreters or substitutes, i.e.,
colleagues or supervisors, will be allowed to intercept during the interview process.)
- Our Invitation to APPLY form must be completed in English; those
which are not will
be automatically rejected.
- Our Invitation to APPLY form must be 100% completed; those which
are not will be
automatically rejected.
